Trade Waiting Green Lantern The Sinestro Corps Vol

The Sinestro Corps War was the second part of Geoff Johns's Green Lantern trilogy and DC's surprise hit from 2007. Unlike Green Lantern: Rebirth , the Sinestro Corps War does lay a lot of the ground work for Blackest Night . However, that is really only tangential to the epic that Johns is telling in Sinestro Corps War, which definitely lives up to its billing as the one of the best events of the past decade. And Then I Read GREEN LANTERN CORPS

All images © DC Comics, Inc. While over in the main GREEN LANTERN title the off-putting blood-spewing Rage of the Red Lanterns storyline is finally finished, here in the GLC we get much more of the kind of storytelling I like: character development, relationships explored, tension building. Paging Jedi Master Baytes

So, I was doing a bit the other week about the somewhat salacious origin of the name of the rock group The Lovin’ Spoonful , and it made me think about mainstream comic books, and whether there are examples of writers doing the same thing with comic book characters, similar to the Jedi Master Baytes from the Star Wars comics . So, can you think of any examples like that in comics? And I mean in places where they would stand out if Another week, another batch of comics to talk about in our Post-Crisis Previews . As always, the Post-Crisis Previews are merely a list of the comics I intend to purchase this Wednesday with the solicits, cover images and some thoughts, expectations or concerns about the upcoming issues. If you have any suggestions or think there's a book I should check out, feel free to leave a comment and let me know. I'll do my best to see if I can make room for books on my pull list or check out an event

Review Final Crisis Legion of Worlds of

--by Matthew Peterson Or - “Sorta Gives New Meaning to the Phrase ‘1000 Years Later,’ Doesn’t It?”This book is late.  There was, I believe, a four-month gap between issues two and three, and something like 10 weeks between three and four.  That said, since Final Crisis tie-in miniseries are going to be continuing indefinitely this isn’t that much of a problem for me.  Of course, the Legion’s 50th anniversary has come and gone, and we’re still notReviews were a little delayed this week. Apologies again. On top of the other problems that originally delayed the reviews, when I sat down to write them tonight, my keyboard decided to have a calliption fit on me and I've basically had to mash the keys like an old school typewriter to get them to register. Quite annoying. Anyways, as for this week's comics, there were some really, really, really good ones this week, particularly in regards to Secret Six, Green Lantern Corps and Captain

Hunky Heroes DC

It's no secret. I love men. That's not to say, on occasion, I haven't uttered the words "I hate men." What girl hasn't? But for all their flaws, I still dig 'em. You may also be aware I like certain literary items called comic books. I don't know if you've noticed this but there are MEN in comic books! "Not real men," you say? I laugh in your general direction - I've seen plenty of comic book characters who are better men than most of my ex-boyfriends will ever be. Here, in alphabetical order First the review, then a reaction to recent announcements below. I seem to have a lot to say about this! Countdown : Only one more Legion comic after this one. What Happened That You Have to Know About : The fighting continues. Superboy-Prime carves a couple of notches onto his belt corresponding to Kinetix and threeboot Element Lad. RECENT COMICS ROUNDUP

UNDERGROUND CLASSICS: THE TRANSFORMATION OF COMICS INTO COMIX Since discovering them at an admittedly too-young-to-be-reading-such-stuff age, I have adored underground comics, a genre and term rendered more or less superfluous since the indie comics boom of the 1980's and the wider acceptance of what kind of material creators can openly get away with nowadays. Those generally-better-drawn descendants of the Tijuana Bibles were filled with graphic depictions of sex, violence and the doing of
