GAZA Has Hamas unofficially imposed Islamic dress code on students

Educators in the Gaza Strip have begun enforcing an unofficial decree by the Hamas leadership requiring high school girls to wear Islamic dress, despite Hamas Education Minister Muhammad Asqoul denying such a policy as recently as two days ago, Arab news outlets reported. "Palestinian society is committed by nature and does not need decrees to force it to be so," Asqoul said, according to a front-page report by Qays Safadi in the left-leaning Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar . The Sum Of All Fears

Canada Free Press : Liberal Nazism By Joy Tiz “History is the sum total of things that could have been avoided” - Konrad Adenauer, First Chancellor of the Federal Republic of West Germany. I can remember the feeling I had when he spoke. At last, I said, here’s somebody who can get us out of this mess. He was so convincing on the speaker’s platform and Out of 600 students, One third said they worry most about schoolwork. But according to a recent survey on Teens Health, not everyone said that schoolwork was their biggest worry. Among the issues that worry teens are: Fitting in, having friends, being judged, or being teased. Another category ranked high on the worry list for teenagers is appearance. One fourth of the people that responded to the survey said that appearance worried them the most. This is why I agree with schools requiring studenWe visited the Creation "Museum" last Friday. I'm careful to put the title in quotes, because it is not a museum in any respectable sense of the word. I knew this ahead of time; I had no expectation of any kind of credible presentation in this place, but what impressed me most is how far it failed to meet even my low hopes. They clearly want to ape a real museum, but they can't — their mission is the antithesis of open inquiry. The guards are a clear example. Real museums have guards, o

Whats Up With Silver

June 1 will mark the start of school year here in the Philippines. There is a healthy debate about requiring or not requiring uniforms in Philippine public schools. With the majority of the folks here that go to public schools, uniforms have been a part of a Pinoy mom’s budget along with the crayons, notebooks and pad papers. My question for this week in Dare to Ask: Uniform or no uniform in philippine public schools?Sa akin, I still prefer uniforms. Why? Tipid sa damit. Hehe.Fire away your commeAs it now seems abundantly clear in this country permanent short term gratification by utilizing "kick the can" policies will have us rolling from one emergency to another over the coming decades. I guess this continues until one day there is no blood left to squeeze but perhaps we can keep the gig going for another 10, 15, 20 years. So we'll continue looking for opportunities outside the borders in responsible '2nd' or '3rd world' countries - Chile appears to be one country with a leadership

The GIVE ACT should be called the TAKE ACT the federal government taking more power

The bill, HR 1388: The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act, otherwise known as the “GIVE Act,” was passed in the House by a vote of 321-105 and then the Senate voted closure on the motion to proceed by a margin of 74-14; making ultimate passage likely since Republicans have abandoned their role as a sensible “loyal opposition.” Let us not forget that President Obama while campaigning made the mistake of revealing his real intentions when he said in his Colorado Springs spee
