Since I don’t watch TV, I’m behind the times when it comes to popular television culture. I’ve just now discovered the Stargate SG-1 series and thoroughly enjoy them. I’ve put many miles on the exercise bike and treadmill while watching this entertaining series. The main theme of the story is battle with “the Goa’ulds,” a parasitic alien presence. Basically, the Goa’ulds are ugly but powerful worm-like things that bury themselves into humans and take them over. The Goa’ulds have a superRick Scarborough of Vision America addressed the How To Take Back America Conference on Friday. He said that “we need to take back the country for the Glory of God,” stating the he is a “Christocrat” and not a Democrat or Republican. He claimed that the subversive were allowed to steal the minds of school children thirty years ago, ranted about Planned Parenthood, and said that homosexuals should not have civil rights. He said that preaching the bible was the “line of salvation” for hom

The organizers of the How to Take Back America conference kicked off the event on Friday afternoon with a press conference, and they hit a lot of the highlights we can expect to revisit this weekend: America is either following the classic model of a Marxist takeover on its way to being an eastern bloc country, or it's on the verge of a Nazi-like dictatorship, or both. Health care reform is about rationing, euthanasia, and pushing the elderly and vets off a cliff. Here are some excerpts from his report on Michele Bachmann’s appearance : Taking the stage, Bachmann thanked Schlafly, calling her an inspiration as a mother who transitioned into conservative politics, and said she considered the conference “a farewell party for ACORN!” The community organization group, she said, was the first, not the last, weak link in the liberal establishment. ST. LOUIS — Speaking to a packed hotel ballroom at the conservative How to Take Back America Conference, Rep. Michele Bachmann said that exposes of “criminal tomfoolery” inside of ACORN could kick off a campaign to “defund the left.” Bachmann was introduced warmly by Phyllis Schlafly, the iconic conservative activist whose Eagle Forum was the chief sponsor of the event. “She’s one of our Republican stars,” said Schlafly, “and some of you came here just to see her.” She got a second iParticipants in Janet Porter and Phyllis Schafley’s “Take Back America” conference held in St. Louis yesterday and today shared their thoughts on how to “take back America.” Joe the Plumber says our true history has been rewritten; others feel we need to return to church. It’s unclear who “took” American and who we need to “take it back” from. It appears that participants feel that liberty is eroding and the nation is becoming socialist. Cap-and-trade bill has small refiners ‘deeply concerned’ - newmexicoindependent.com 09/24/2009 Teague, shown here during a recent town hall meeting in Las Cruces. U.S. Rep. Harry Teague , D-N.M., was instrumental in a deal with small refiners that helped controversial cap-and-trade legislation narrowly pass the House in June, but those refiners say they don’t support the bill in the Senate—which could have significance for Teague’s reelection. Reported by Alex - September 23, 2009 - What is the yardstick by which we measure character? Is it what a person says? Is it what s/he does? Well, judging by the shrieking and hand-wringing coming from Fox News Channel about President Obama’s associates, past and present, a person’s character should be judged exclusively by the company s/he keeps – no matter how briefly or how long ago. As I reported on Saturday, Fox News talking head and pastor–who-would-be-king president Mike Huckabee is thFeeling a little lost without news and wisdom coming from the Values Voters Summit? Don’t worry, more is on its way. Tomorrow and Saturday, the “ Take Back America ” conference launches in St. Louis. The conference is co-chaired by Janet Porter and

For weeks now, we have been posting on the How To Take Back America Conference and the utter insanity that has long plagued the hosts of the conference, wondering why on earth Republican leaders like Mike Huckabee or Reps. Michele Bachmann, Steve King, Tom Price, Tom McClintock and Trent Franks are inexcusably lending credibility to this event and to its organizers. To put this upcoming conference into perspective, let us put it this way: If you thought last week's Values Voter Summit - whThe Alliance Defense Fund is partnering with Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort in their anti-evolution efforts. Meg Whitman has formally declared her candidacy for governor of California and potential U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina launched a web site ahead of this weekend's California Republican Party convention. Here's a great essay on the contribution that
Phyllis Schlafly made to the cause of American conservatism and our cultural heritage.... she is truly a role model for us today in this fight against... ]If you didn't get enough extreme right-wing fun last weekend at the Values Voter Summit in DC, it's not too late to attend to sign up for this weekend's " How To Take Back America Conference" in St. Louis. Hosted by Phyllis Schlafly's Eagle Forum and a bunch of like-mind conservative activists , this weekend's event may actually be crazier than the Values Voter fiesta. Here are just a few of the workshops being offered : How to recognize living under Nazis & Communists

Members of the generational cohort born from 1924-33 were in their teens and 20s during the Forties , and in their 20s and 30s during the Fifties . Though this cohort is easily distinguished from their immediate juniors , the influential generational periodizers William Strauss and Neil Howe have lumped the two distinct cohorts together and dismissively named their own awkward construct the “Silent Generation” (1925-42, a tim

Back in 2007, I wrote a post about a DVD produced and sold by Kitty Werthmann, the head of the South Dakota chapter of the Eagle Forum, called " Freedom to Dictatorship in 5 Years ": From her own experience, Mrs. Kitty Werthmann will help you see we are walking the same path as the Nazi's. When she was 12 years old living in Austria there was order, prayer and pictures of Jesus. Hitler took over and all that was removed! Unemployment rose to 35%, bank loans rose to 25%, unions called sI endured my second Values Voter Summit over the weekend, and as my colleague Rob Boston shared with you yesterday, it was an interesting time. Like Rob, I was subjected to some crazy Religious Right rants and raves. But it doesn’t upset me that much any more. After all, I’ve read or heard most of them

You need to take off the turntable plate, it soaks up a lot of the energy ;)
And you should always set the timer to ten minutes, then pull out the plug from behind the door if you need to turn it off. there have been times when you needed to add more time and have had to expose your nuts by doing it manually.
