First Apple Macintosh Plus, given to Gene Roddenberry Profiles in History, which auctioned Forry Ackerman’s stuff earlier this year, will soon be taking bids on another item with fan appeal — a computer , given by Apple Computer, Inc. to Gene Roddenberry. It comes with a letter of authentication from Roddenberry’s son. Some of you remember, I’m sure, that when the Macintosh Plus came on the market in 1986 it boasted an awesome 1 megabyte of RAM ! Flash Gordon The Football Fight

Flash Gordon is one of those films that I constantly come back to, between the inspired costumes, the great Max von Sydow as Ming the Merciless , and Doctor Zarkoff’s memory erasure which is visualized as a minute-long flashback that is an unbelievable montage, I can’t even begin to explain the influence this film had on a my imagination as a young boy. In fact, it was almost as wonder-filled as looking at the Sear’s Christmas Catalog in late November of 1980. response: one of my friends is a teacher, he was suspended a few months ago without a reason.. he just a had a meeting wit hthe union and school to find out the reasons he was suspended were false so now hes been paid for the time and a cool 8k for the inconvenence but he feels bad cause hes missed out teaching his kids. school admin are pretty fucked up sometimes. i wouldnt always blame it on lazy teachers or grabby unions.
