Posts about Obama Health Care Failure as of September

Cashless Society Right Around The Corner - socyberty.com 09/23/2009 Unfortunately, I am a living witness to this Orwellian nightmare actually occurring right before our eyes. One such example is President Obama’s health care reform program. For many the program may appear to be a lifesaving proposal however all is not as it seems. “Obamacare” has the potential to dramatically transform our very lives and to modify the way we are accustomed to living if it happens to be passed by our repThe Irish Republican Army: Terrorist or not Terrorist?             While many people believe that the dictionary definition for terrorism is exactly what terrorism is, it must be noted that many definitions are in fact inadequate.  According to the Random House dictionary, terrorism is “the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes.”  This definition is inadequate because it does not take into account the people that the said terrorists target with their

Open Borders And Obamacare

Most people would think open borders/illegal immigration and health care in America are two different topics. Instead, the Obama sycophants in the mainstream media go on about how the greedy doctors, insurance companies and drug companies are at fault. We also have people like Ezekiel “Zeke” Emanuel saying that doctors take their Hippocratic Oath too seriously, and that health care must be rationed for the greater good. What they all have in common is that they’rFamous Libra: Movie-star, TV-star and pop-rap star Will Smith was born September 25, 1968. What the City Lost in Almontaser

In August, 2007, Debbie Almontaser was the interim principal of the Khalil Gibran International Academy in Brooklyn, an Arabic language public high school she had worked with the New York City Department of Education for two years to establish. Though the school was secular , an ad hoc interest group called Stop the Madrassa formed and started a smear campaign in a concerted effort to block its The Immigration Cure By: Virgil Goode Tuesday, September 15, 2009   To fix health care, first fix the broken immigration system. Like virtually every issue that faces the nation, our healthcare problem is greatly exacerbated by mass immigration—both legal and illegal.   A total of 43 percent of non-citizens lack health insurance, compared to just 12.7 percent of native-born Americans. These uninsured immigrants impose huge strains on our healthcare system that helped cre

Sorry Venture Capital Needs To Be Regulated Like Everything Else

Venture capital has managed to maintain a decent reputation, even as the crisis has turned other areas of finance into public enemies. It's because venture capitalists are seen as breathing life into the great firms of tomorrow, whereas hedge funds use client money to exploit arbitrage opportunities, and PE funds are seen as picking apart once-great companies. In a NYT op-ed , New York VC Alan Patricoff and former NY Insurance Commissioner Eric Dinallo urge Obama not to include VI’m trying to decide if I want to read the new book by David Denby called Snark , which is just being published here in Britain. It’s apparently a dignified commentary on what’s wrong with the world today, perhaps something along the lines Miss Manners might come up with if she addressed blogging as a cultural phenomenon. But I haven’t read it yet, so I can’t really say if that’s what it is. Denby is a film reviewer for The New Yorker Magazine , which gives him a certain cache as a “New Yorker

Why Natural Wine needs to go Extreme

The natural wine movement, while gaining a flow of momentum, will always be a small tide pool in the wine world ocean unless vignerons and winemakers embrace the extreme. Simply, it’s not enough for natural wine proponents and winemakers to eschew technology while embracing organics, and ambient yeasts.  Nope, it’s not nearly enough.  In order to gain real mindshare, to create a real revolution, to incite consumer interest that transcends the fringes, they have to go to the fringe … and beyon

Ivan Katz Woodstock for Wagnerians

Every four years, on January 20th a new president is inaugurated. Every four years, roughly seven months later, the Seattle Opera presents Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen . Both events provide extravaganzas and spectacles that incite the imagination. Der Ring des Nibelungen is, however, the vastly better show. Racism and Antiterror Laws A Threat to Civil Liberties

Tony Iltis, Green Left Weekly August 17, 2009 22:31 UTC On August 12, ALP federal Attorney-General Robert McClelland announced a discussion paper that foreshadowed a new raft of draconian "anti-terror" laws. The proposed new laws would give police the power to enter premises without a warrant and create new "terrorist" offenses. McClelland said new laws were needed to prohibit "an act that is designed to attack our electronic system". He also flagged changes that would

kubaniski - yes! Thank you. The poster children of the uninsured aren't always single mothers working three jobs. I know dozens of loser stories. One case: a guy signed a waiver that he and children were on his wife's policy. But she never held a job for more than a few months. So he left his KIDS uninsured. This was a *very* well-paid guy, too. The money for a refurbished Mustang mysteriously appeared. Ugh!
