More Who Blocked You on MSN Threats

In August I decided to write an article about the “phishing” threat of websites offering you the chance to see who blocked you on MSN . It seems that the article had a good number of visits, but at the same time I saw that I kept receiving more and more spam of this kind. Almost all of the emails were coming from people in my list. That is because these contacts had their computers infected with malware that was distributing these messages. Many of these sites have not Dear video creator…  Somewhere on the web you found this collection of keywords, and someone convinced you that they’ll drive views. The good news is you’re not alone. Go read my dated but free “ How to Become Popular on YouTube Without Any Talent ,” and forget the tags. Remember- Google no longer crawls metatags of websites, so I’m seriously doubting t

The Interns File Links to Lost AEI Transcripts

Stumbled on this one sometime Wednesday.  It’s been something of an annoyance that for the last several weeks the "transcript" links at the event homepages of the American Enterprise Institute appear to have all been broken. But it would seem that someone at AEI kept a copy of the entire pre-conversion tree for the event pages in an accessible but obscure place at the Institute. Anyway, I’m finally finished with an initial pass through what appears to be the whole set. Doomers, enjoy, therHappy Souvenir Sunday! That’s why here at Stuck at The Airport we celebrate Souvenir Sunday every week. This week: cute panda hats from China’s Beijing Capital International Airport . China Blogs Thats The way UhHuh UhHuh We Like It UhHuh UhHuh Part II

About a month ago, in Part I of this series , I promised we would go through our blogroll and justify and expound upon each blog, five by five. This is the second in that series. As I mentioned in that last blog post, we pick our blogs based on the following slippery, vague, and subjective criteria: Our blogroll basically consists of those blogs we like and which we think our readers will like or should be reading. We tend to like blogs that are unique in their content, well written, or c

Olympic Track Cycling Set For Overhaul

by Justin Davis MENDRISIO, Switzerland, Sept 26, 2009 – Female track cyclists could be among the biggest winners at the London Olympics after it emerged Saturday that world cycling chiefs want “gender parity” at the 2012 Games. Currently, there are 10 track cycling finals at the Olympics. But while the men compete in seven competitions, the women get to contend just three: the sprint, the individual pursuit and the points race. International Cycling Union chief Pa

Valverde Facing Tough Road To Rainbow Jersey Win

by Justin Davis MENDRISIO, Sept 26, 2009 - Alejandro Valverde will find out on Sunday whether his recent Tour of Spain triumph costs him the chance to finally be crowned world champion. The Spaniard begins the blue riband event of the world road race championships, a 262.2km race around Mendrisio near the Italian border, among the big favorites for cycling’s prestigious rainbow jersey. Will China raise the stakes on US weakness

First, apologies for not posting recently. I now have a senior academic management role , have been at an international conference and have been involved in writing a number of research papers with an academic visitor. But now I should be able to do better - apologies again. What is interesting me at the moment is the current balance of power between the US and China. The 2007 crisis hit both countries hard but China appears to have bounced back and is on its feet (although still a liThere is this push by the media and WH officials to show that Obama's need for dialogue has helped to push Iran in a corner somehow. That is a ridiculous notion. President Obama, in his first visit to the opening of the United Nations General Assembly, made progress Wednesday on two key issues, wringing a concession from Russia to consider tough new sanctions against Iran and securing support from Moscow and Beijing for a Security Council resolution to curb nuclear weapons. The successes c

Talking Revolution

Talking RevolutionBy Timothy V. Gatto All day long I’ve been seething. I finally calmed down enough to sit down and through writing about how I feel, sort of work things out. Following a series of guest posts exploring controversial features of the SNP’s time in government, he now reflects on what motivated him to write the book as well as discussing some of its key conclusions. *** I wrote this book because Scotland is displaying some of the negative consequences of a country where democracy arrived lat

Uganda women seek gender recovery plan

By Wambi Michael KAMPALA, Sep 26 - After two decades of war during which thousands of children were used as child soldiers and many women raped, Northern Uganda’s recovery plan is to be spent on building roads rather than helping the country’s most vulnerable. Civil society and women parliamentarians are not happy with the government and donors, as there are no concrete measures to meet gender-related concerns over the recovery plan for Northern Uganda.
