The Dark Side Of The Yankees Postseason Pricing Press Release The Amazing Shrinking Yankee Stadium

Lost amidst the jubilation of the Yankees announcing surprisingly cheap postseason ticket pricing is the sobering fact that the general public probably won't get to enjoy those cheap prices. In the past, Yankee Stadium was packed to the gills for postseason games. 56,315 people witnessed the final postseason game at the old Yankee Stadium back in 2007, and crowds of nearly 57,000 were commonplace during the Yankees 13 year postseason run. Postseason ticket information

I posted this last night. In case you missed: The Yankees announced 2009 postseason ticket pricing for potential games at Yankee Stadium in the American League Division Series, American League Championship Series and World Series. Prices for the vast majority of postseason tickets are less than those that were charged by the Yankees for equivalent seating in the 2007 postseason at the original Yankee Stadium. Regular season ticket prices for full-season ticket licensees will be Once upon a time, I went to a few classic post-season baseball games in the Bronx. I saw the first home game of the 2001 World Series, Game Six of the 2000 ALCS, Game 1 of the 2000 World Series and that fateful Game Two of the 1998 ALCS. I had tickets to Game Five of the 1999 World Series and Game Seven of the 2003 World Series. Those both proved to be unnecessary for vastly different reasons. Yesterday, with the Yanks’ Magic Number at 27 before their Monday night win over the Orioles, the tea

New York Yankees Playoff Tickets

From the official Yankees release below.  Basically it sounds like if you don't have a season plan good luck getting tickets, and if there are tickets left there will be a few five dollar seats.  I imagine very few. The Yankees have successfully got the media to report that playoff tickets are cheaper than regular season tickets - the Post can walk you through that. You may want to jump on Stubhub now - outfield seats are already going for $100.  Get them while you can. Regular seaso

Week Log For Sox Deja Vu All Over Again

Two straight in Toronto and a two-game improvement in the wildcard race as the Sox leapfrog Texas will lead us off this fine Thursday afternoon. On an even more optimistic note, Rich Levine says to forget 2006, as these Sox are more comparable to the 2004 club that got things rolling five years ago nearly to the day with two straight wins . . . in Toronto . Boston Sports Blog points out even more eerie parallels to 2004 that give the cynics of The Nation cause for hope. Red Sox Hen The Yankees announced ticket prices for potential home playoff games, with prices for most non-suite seats in the first round remaining the same as the regular season, and some even selling for less — $5 to $275 apiece. Those who paid $325 for field-level seats can pay $275 for those seats in the A.L.D.S.For the American League Championship Series, however, some of those non-suite seats will double, with tickets selling for $10 to $350 each. But when asked about his own success, he is bland as a baloney sandwich.According to Jeter, the reason he has been one of the best leadoff hitters in the American League this season is that he feels good physically. There’s much more to it than that, of course. But he leaves it to others t
